How do I get the private categories to display?

Private categories work in conjunction with user-groups. You can create a user-group and assign some private categories to that group. Now, all users (KB Members) of that group would be able to view those private categories after login on the front-end.   1. Is there a way to allow an admin user to be a member of groups? I was thinking I could use private categories as a way to dispaly documentation to our admin staff without letting it be visible to the rest of the users/viewers of the KB
